Only three newspapers carried the story of the Wright Brothers’ first flight. Granted, they only covered 880 feet on their first try but their imaginations put them back in the air 69 more times. And with each attempt, their plane went higher and farther.
This National Aviation Day, we celebrate everything aviation, from its history to the aircraft and the men and women who fly them. In that celebration, it is important to not lose sight of what started it all.
