Do you know what day it is? Do you know what day it is? Do you know what day it is?
June 3rd is Repeat Day, an Obsessive-Compulsive’s dream come true. This is your day to rejoice in the overwhelming drive to wash your hands seven times before leaving the bathroom and to step over the threshold precisely ten times on the way out.
However, if you’re not the obsessive-compulsive type, relax. In the spirit of today’s festivities, you won’t be left behind.
While taking your morning shower, lather, rinse and repeat five times. If you lose count, start over and do it again. Classic-television addicts can spend the day slacking on the sofa, watching reruns, without guilt.
Consider a trip to the amusement park. You can ride the roller coaster over and over, preferably before indulging in a repeated intake of five-alarm wings and ale. If you’re planning to meet up at the bar, tell the bartender to “keep ‘em coming”. (Just call a cab before you leave.)
Create two “to-do” lists. The first will include your favorite indulgences and the second will include the things you dread. Celebrate by performing all tasks on the first list with gusto. The second list is simply to remind you of tasks to avoid. After all, would you rather savor chocolates and play video games repeatedly or scrub the toilet and pay bills all day?
Now, go back to the beginning and read this again. Repetition commits knowledge to memory. June 3 is Repeat Day. June 3 is Repeat Day. June 3 is Repeat Day. Don’t forget.
