Since 1977, plots taking place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away has captivated moviegoers. With each release, “Star Wars” quickly becomes a household name, ushering in new characters and influxes of collectibles.
If there’s a convention not so far, far away, pay homage to this mecca of memorabilia. Attendees engage in cosplay, there are themed movies, guest speakers and collectibles of just about any item you can imagine.

Plan a film-watching party and request that guests dress in characters of choice. Serve up themed edibles, and remember to propose a toast to the late Carrie Fisher, known to all fans as Princess Leia.
